What is a Podiatrist?
Podiatrist's are specialists in lower limb pathologies and provide treatment and advice on all aspects of foot or leg related problems.

 

Podiatrists train at University and are awarded a honors degree in Podiatry & Health Science.

 

A Podiatrist is also qualified in the use of local anesthesia and can carry out toe-nail removal.

 

Importantly a Podiatrist has a good level of pharmaceutical knowledge to enable full assessment of prescribed medicines.

 

What are the differences between a Podiatrist and Chiropodist?

A Podiatrist undergoes a much longer training period and to a higher level of knowledge.

 

A Podiatrist has specialist knowledge of the bio mechanical function of the body's lower limbs and therefore can diagnose and in most cases help treat back, leg and foot pain.

 

A Podiatrist also specialises in caring for the feet of people with diabetes and poor circulation to the legs.

FULL CHIROPODY TREATMENT WITH FULL ADVICE (45 mins) £17
Toe-nails cut & shaped plus removal of hard skin, and any specific foot problems assessed.

HALF CHIROPODY TREATMENT WITH FULL ADVICE (30 mins) £12
Any individual foot problem.

VERRUCAE TREATMENTS Full advice and information will be given on both traditional and alternative verrucae treatments during consultation.

Chemical Therapies or Natural verrucae therapy (15 mins) £10
Weekly removal of skin over verrucae and application of acid paste. Acids break down skin cells and help to initiate the destruction of verrucae.
(approximately 6 applications required) Cryotherapy (verrucae treatment)
(30 mins) £30

NAIL REMOVAL (1 hour) £180
Full or part removal of toe-nail using local anesthetic with phenolisation of nail matrix to prevent nail regrowth. Full aftercare provided.

BIOMECHANIC ASSESSMENT (40 mins) £25
A detailed investigation of the way the head; shoulders; spine; pelvis; lower limbs and feet function together. Aids in diagnosing causes of pain.

FOOT FRESHEN-UP (20 mins) £10
